My big 3 tips for office workers

I would say 80% of my patients are desk workers based in English Bay, Coal Harbour, the West End and beyond. One common question I get asked is for tips to reduce pain and fatigue from sitting all day.

The first tip is to invest in a sitting/standing desk. The current guidelines are to do 30 min of sitting and then standing throughout the day. This can encourage blood flow and also reduce the risk of repetative strain injuries.

The second tip would be to sit back in the chair, with your legs flat on the floor. If you are leaning forward all day, many desk workers develop chronic strain on the pelvis and lower back.

The last tip is to drink more water! As you know, I am huge on getting you all to drink more water. The first sign of dehydration is muscle soreness, you should aim for 3-4 litres a day! And any coffee beverages do not count, although herbal tea is ok!

Let me know if you have any specific questions or you would like me to look at your home or work desk set up. I have also summarized it in this video! Also there is a small cameo of Rain!
